Q: How long have you been working for SAM?
A: I have been with SAM for three years this September 13th.
Q: How did you come to be part of the team at SAM? What attracted you to this role and our company?
A: While the pandemic was happening my previous place of business had to close. While looking through the Indeed job app I found a position for a part-time Assistant Manager, and it was only ten minutes from my house. I applied and a week later I had my interview, and the rest was history.
Q: What do you enjoy most about working at SAM? Is there a specific aspect of your job or the company culture that you find particularly rewarding?
A: What I love most about my job with SAM is that it is part office work and part manual work. I find it hard to just sit behind a desk for eight hours a day. I enjoy being able to get up and go outside, as well as the office aspects.
Q: Is there a memorable life lesson or piece of advice that has shaped your outlook or approach to life and work?
A: When I first started working, I had a boss that I fully admired. She would always say to us, “Work smarter, not harder.” This has stuck with me at every job I’ve had since.
Q: Outside of work, what are some of your hobbies or interests that you enjoy pursuing in your free time?
A: I play video games (what can I say I’m a nineties kid). I also enjoy getting out of the house and being outside and spending time with my family and pets.
Q: Can you share a fun fact about yourself?
A: Something a lot of people do not know about me is I am internationally certified to groom dogs.
Q: Is there anything else you’d like to share about yourself?
A: I am a previously military brat who grew up in Wurzburg, West Germany when the Berlin wall was still up and the country was divided.
Q: What is your go-to Sunday cleaning/organizing song?
A: When getting down and cleaning my house I will always jam out to GRiZ – Bustin’ Out (feat. Bootsy Collins).
